Experteer Overview In this role you will design and evolve embedded mission systems software across the full development lifecycle, delivering reliable real-time applications for critical defense programs. You’ll work within Agile teams to build scalable software baselines and ensure rigorous verification. The position sits at the intersection of software and systems engineering, influencing safety-critical platforms. You’ll contribute to cutting-edge, mission-driven projects that underpin national security and innovation. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, integrate, modify and maintain embedded mission systems software * Participate in full software development life cycle from requirements to maintenance * Architect and develop embedded software on real-time operating systems * Collaborate in Agile Scrum teams to deliver software for multiple baselines Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related experience OR Master’s with 3 years OR PhD with 1 year * Experience in C, C++ and/or Python for safety-critical applications/systems * Experience with safety-critical RTOS such as VxWorks, Integrity or RT Embedded Linux * Familiarity with static/dynamic analysis tools and fuzzing (e.g., Coverity, Fortify, SonarQube) * Experience with software change control and CI/CD tools (Atlassian suite, GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins) * Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance (or in-scope) * Strong collaboration across systems, hardware and test teams Key requirements * health insurance * life and disability insurance * savings plan * Company paid holidays * paid time off (PTO) * discretionary bonus
