Job description

Experteer Overview As a System Cybersecurity Engineer, you will support MD4 at Peterson SFB, delivering DoD RMF-based cybersecurity oversight. You will manage ATO maintenance, risk assessments, and compliance activities across covered systems, collaborating with leadership and cross-functional teams. You’ll drive improvements in RMF packaging, security testing, and artifact development to strengthen cyber posture. This role offers impact on national defense systems, with a focus on compliance, risk reduction, and mission assurance. Compensation / Benefits * Ensure cybersecurity policy is correctly implemented on covered systems to maintain Authority to Operate (ATO) * Ensure compliance with DoD and Air Force RMF policies and related directives (e.g., RMF for DoD IT, AFI 17-101) * Lead discovery, monitoring, and remediation of vulnerabilities; maintain eMASS POA&M and DISA STIGs/IAVA/IAVM processes * Manage Security Impact Assessments (SIA) for system changes and support ITIPS documentation * Develop and refine RMF testing and evaluation requirements; build implementation and validation plans * Review data and ensure compliance notifications (IAVAs, NOTAMs) and security posture reporting * Advise leadership on architecture mitigations to reduce risk and present risk posture in briefings to senior DoD stakeholders * Apply NIST SP 800-series guidance to develop system artifacts and ensure compliance Tasks * US citizenship * Secret security clearance * DoD IAM Level I certification (CAP, CND, Cloud+, GSLC, Security+ CE, CISSP) * High School Diploma; 15 years relevant experience with DoD-specific requirements or advanced degrees with commensurate experience (as described) * Advanced knowledge and ability to oversee junior and mid-level staff in the field Key requirements * medical * dental * vision * life insurance * Tricare supplement * short-term disability
