Senior AI Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will strengthen Abbott’s Go-based healthcare platforms and cloud SaaS services, embedding AI capabilities to deliver health insights. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, scalable, and compliant software that supports global healthcare delivery. You’ll tackle high-volume, low-latency systems and drive architectural improvements while staying at the forefront of AI, cloud, and medical software trends. Compensation / Benefits * Enhance and maintain Go-based healthcare platforms with a focus on reliability, performance, security, and UX * Design, build, test, and deploy cloud-native SaaS services, APIs, and data workflows * Develop distributed systems handling high-volume healthcare data * Integrate AI capabilities including model inference and evaluation workflows * Build secure APIs for compliant data sharing with internal and external partners * Collaborate cross-functionally with product, quality, regulatory, security, DevOps, and engineering teams * Work with InfoSec on secure, standards-aligned solutions * Write clean, testable code with strong test coverage * Contribute to architecture, strategy, and reusable design patterns * Build internal tools, dashboards, and automation to improve productivity and release confidence * Document system design with diagrams and specifications * Participate in agile development and lead code/design reviews * Stay current with AI, cloud, healthcare trends and apply relevant innovations * Demonstrate ownership, technical judgment, collaboration, and continuous learning Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field * 8+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 6+ years * Hands-on AI/ML concepts: model integration, inference, evaluation, feature engineering * Strong Go backend experience: APIs, concurrency, testing, maintainable design * Experience designing scalable, highly available, and observable architectures * Distributed systems experience with asynchronous processing and data workflows * RESTful APIs and microservices development * Database experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar * Cloud platforms, CI/CD, containers, automation, observability, version control * Linux proficiency * Strong communication and cross-team collaboration * Ownership, curiosity, and willingness to contribute beyond duties Key requirements * free medical coverage in HIP PPO plan * excellent retirement savings plan with high employer contribution * tuition reimbursement * Freedom 2 Save student debt program * FreeU education benefit for bachelor’s degree * career development opportunities
