Job description

We are seeking an Applications Engineer to develop technical concepts and proposals for custom automation and manufacturing equipment. This position works closely with customers, sales, engineering, and suppliers to understand manufacturing challenges and develop practical, cost-effective automation solutions., * Develop concepts and preliminary layouts for custom automation and machinery.

  • Review customer specifications, RFQs, drawings, and technical requirements.
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and technical proposals covering labor, materials, engineering, and installation.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, and suppliers during the quoting process.
  • Work directly with customers to clarify requirements, present solutions, and provide technical support throughout the sales process.

Requirements

  • Experience with custom automation, machine building, or manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of robotics, automated assembly, material handling, machining, welding, gauging, or testing systems.
  • Ability to develop equipment concepts and estimate project costs.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks preferred.
  • Strong customer-facing, technical writing, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
