Sr Software Engineer, AWS Managed Backend Services

Experteer Overview Join AWS to help craft a greenfield, fully-managed backend platform that unifies databases, authentication, and other functions for developers. You will shape a scalable, multi-tenant control plane and edge-case-rich backend services, enabling AI-assisted development at scale. You’ll collaborate across teams to deliver a cohesive developer experience and drive technically ambitious initiatives. This role offers hands-on coding, architecture leadership, and high-impact delivery in a fast-moving AWS environment. Compensation / Benefits * Control Plane Architecture: design and build scalable, multi-tenant orchestration of backend resources across regions * Database & Storage Services: implement managed relational DB capabilities including schema management, migrations, RLS, and real-time change data capture * Authentication & Authorization: develop IAM services with OAuth/OIDC, social login, JWT management, and multi-tenant isolation * AI-Native Developer Experience: define SDKs, CLI tools, and tooling to integrate AI agents and MCP-based workflows * Technical Leadership: lead multi-engineer projects, participate in design reviews, mentor engineers, and influence technical roadmap Tasks * 5+ years of non-internship software development experience * 5+ years of programming experience in at least one language * 5+ years of leading design or architecture of complex systems * Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team * Experience delivering complex software systems to customers Key requirements * sign-on payments and RSUs * health insurance (medical, dental, vision) * 401(k) matching * paid time off * parential leave * disability and life insurance
