Experteer Overview In this Principal Software Engineer role you design, develop, and test software for space systems, applying advanced programming skills and architecture expertise. You will lead technical efforts, mentor engineers, and ensure scalable, secure software solutions. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to align on requirements and deliver robust flight and mission software. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape software that underpins space deployments and national security. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, and test software applications for space systems * Architect and implement complex software architectures to meet project requirements * Lead code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and ensure code quality * Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather needs * Document configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference * Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership * Stay current with software trends and space technologies * Contribute to design and development independently, including unit testing Tasks * Bachelor in a related field (or equivalent experience) * Typically 12+ years of related experience * Expert in multiple programming languages and software development principles * Ability to design, architect, implement, and test complex software systems * Advanced understanding of software engineering processes, algorithms, performance tuning, and scalability * Experience with Agile and Scrum/Kanban * Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance * Secure coding and system architecture knowledge Key requirements * medical, dental, and vision plans * 401(k) with 150% match up to 6% * life insurance * 3 weeks paid time off * generous benefits package
