Experteer Overview In this Senior Data Engineer role, you will help modernize a financial data platform for an investment management firm, shaping scalable cloud-based data architecture and market data pipelines. You will work within a lean, high-performing tech and data team, delivering measurable impact across investment workflows. You’ll partner with portfolio managers, traders, and researchers to build reliable datasets and analytics capabilities. Compensation / Benefits * Lead data platform modernization from on-premise to cloud-based architecture * Design, build, and maintain scalable ELT pipelines using Python, SQL Server, Snowflake, and dbt * Integrate data from vendor feeds, APIs, market data providers, and internal systems * Develop robust data ingestion, transformation, and storage frameworks * Build and optimize market data pipelines for Fixed Income, Credit, FX, Rates, Commodities, and derivatives * Support yield curve construction, pricing analytics, risk analytics, P&L attribution, and reference data management * Partner with investment professionals to deliver reliable, high-quality datasets * Drive migration initiatives from SQL Server to Snowflake and design scalable enterprise data models * Enhance Python-based data services and APIs powering investment workflows * Optimize reporting and analytics environments and support BI/self-service analytics * Establish automated monitoring, data quality controls, and data cataloging across the platform Tasks * 5+ years of Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or Data Platform Engineering * Experience in Hedge Funds, Asset Management, Investment Management, Private Equity, Alternative Asset Manager, or Capital Markets environments * Advanced Python development experience * Expert-level SQL development and performance tuning * Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server * Hands-on experience with Snowflake * Strong experience building and maintaining dbt frameworks * Experience designing enterprise-scale ELT pipelines * Experience working with APIs and data integration platforms * Capital markets exposure to Fixed Income, Credit, FX, Rates, Commodities, and Derivatives Key requirements * bonus eligibility * health benefits * hybrid work arrangement * career advancement opportunities * competitive compensation * 401(k) or retirement benefits (if stated)
