Job description

Experteer Overview Join Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems team to develop high-fidelity hardware-in-the-loop simulation platforms for space programs. You will work with cross-functional engineers to model and test flight software interfaces, contributing to mission-critical space systems. The role combines hands-on hardware integration with software development to enable flight software validation and qualification. You’ll operate on a collaborative, innovative team that values clear communication and rigorous testing. This is a hands-on, impact-driven opportunity in a mission-focused environment. Compensation / Benefits * Define simulation requirements for hardware-in-the-loop platforms * Select or design interface hardware to simulate space vehicle components * Develop simulation software models and interfaces (digital, analog, serial, SpaceWire) * Create testbed harnesses aligned with project harness requirements * Collaborate with hardware engineers on design, build, and test of simulation platforms * Implement software control for simulation test equipment * Develop and execute simulation certification test cycles * Integrate components and flight software with the simulation platform * Utilize lab equipment (oscilloscopes, breakout boxes, multimeters, interface analyzers) for debugging * Prepare design docs, analyses, results, and presentation materials for stakeholders * Contribute to a collaborative, cross-functional team across all levels Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM with 5+ years embedded software experience (Level 3) or * Master’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM with 3+ years embedded software experience (Level 3) or * PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM with 1+ year embedded software experience (Level 3) or * Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years (Level 4) or Master’s with 6+ years or PhD with 4+ years embedded software experience * Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI access * U.S. Citizenship required * Diverse programming experience: C/C++, Python, Windows/Linux scripting * Excellent communication and ability to work in small teams * Understanding of waterfall, spiral and/or Agile software development and CI * Experience with Subversion and Git Key requirements * Total Rewards package * health insurance * life and disability insurance * savings plan * Company-paid holidays * PTO
