Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will define and build Robinhood’s core identity and access platform, enabling secure, scalable access for employees, services, and AI-enabled workloads. You will lead architecture across Tier-0 infrastructure, collaborate with Infrastructure, Data, and Security teams, and shape governance for non-human actors. This is a high-impact opportunity to advance secure, automated access at scale and to influence the company’s identity strategy. You’ll work at the intersection of security, platform engineering, and innovative AI governance to enable cross-functional teams to move fast safely. Compensation / Benefits * Define and build the core access control plane architecture for employees, services, and agentic workloads * Design, implement, and operate Tier-0 identity infrastructure with high availability and observability * Develop AuthN/AuthZ solutions using modern protocols (OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, RBAC, ABAC) * Create governance, guardrails, and observability for AI agents, LLMs, and MCP systems * Build self-service developer platforms to streamline access provisioning and auditing * Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and align with Infrastructure, Data, and Security teams Tasks * 8+ years of backend or security platform engineering experience * Experience building security platforms or identity infrastructure from the ground up * Strong understanding of identity primitives and least-privilege access (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, WebAuthn) * Experience with RBAC, ABAC, or similar access control models * Experience defining security for AI/non-human workloads * HVAC: cloud-native, high-availability infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes) * Proven record of technical ownership and cross-functional alignment Key requirements * 100% paid health insurance for employees * 90% coverage for dependents * equity ownership * bonus programs and 401(k) matching * lifestyle wallet benefits * fertility benefits and mental health benefits
