Senior Data Architect - Hybrid

Experteer Overview As a Data Engineer at National Interstate, you will shape and govern our enterprise data landscape to enable data-driven decisions. You will lead data architecture design, governance, and integration efforts across business and technology teams. You will enhance analytics environments for performance, scalability, and security while ensuring regulatory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to influence data strategy in a niche, transport-focused insurer with a culture of collaboration. You will work on high-impact data initiatives that support enterprise priorities and mentor peers as needed. Compensation / Benefits * Define and govern enterprise data architecture including models, data flows, and integration strategies * Lead design and governance of data integration solutions and optimize databases, data warehouses, and analytics environments * Establish standards for data modeling, metadata, governance, data quality, security, and compliance * Analyze data acquisition and usage requirements to enable data-driven decisions * Develop and enforce data governance policies and controls * Evaluate emerging data technologies to enhance architecture and analytics * Create and maintain documentation for data architecture, standards, and governance * Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align data architecture with enterprise priorities * Provide thought leadership through workshops and advisory sessions * May supervise and coach staff and participate in talent decisions Tasks * Minimum 14 years of experience in data architecture or data management * Bachelor’s in Information Technology (or related field); Master’s preferred * Proficiency in data modeling, database design, SQL, ETL, and data integration tools * Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) * Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills; ability to influence at all levels * Ability to lead data architecture initiatives and mentor junior team members * Knowledge of data quality, metadata, and governance concepts * Experience with Informatica Cloud and Snowflake is preferred * Professional designation such as CDMP or AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty is a plus Key requirements * medical, dental, and vision coverage * wellness plans * parental leave * tuition reimbursement * 401(k) with company match * employee stock purchase plan
