Job description

CapSpecialty, is seeking a Team Lead - IT Applications, to work in our Hartford, CT office. The Team Lead - IT Applications works seamlessly with business stakeholders, business analysts, and architects, in the rapid design and development of technical solutions that embed AI capabilities into core business processes; functions as an application architect, ensuring application capabilities align with overall enterprise vision and architecture; as the Tech-Lead is responsible for all facets of delivery (estimating, capacity planning, work assignments, planning, execution, risk/issue escalation); ensures technical designs align to the overall architecture and that code delivery is timely, high-quality and adheres to all coding standards; is a thought leader to the broader technical community and provides mentoring to junior team members; plans and executes coordinated development activities with integrated platforms; manages the onshore and offshore development resources. Responsible for ensuring resources have the required skills to meet organizational objectives; develops and maintains positive relationships with peers and business partners to promote collaboration and continuous improvement; participates in training and/or other self-development learning activities as needed and proactively learns about the broader ecosystem and business processes.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Underwriting?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. Individuals must also have at least 5 years of application development experience. As part of that 5 years of application development experience, the individual must have:

  • 5 years of experience within the Insurance industry including 3 years of experience with underwriting business processes.
  • 3 years of experience as an application architect and 2 years of experience leading the design, development, and implementation of Generative AI applications using Large Language Models such as Claude Sonnet and GPT to enhance underwriting processes.
  • 4 years of experience with the Software Development Life Cycle from building serverless applications using Infrastructure as a Code (IaaC) to deploying solutions in AWS / Azure cloud environment.
  • 3 years of experience creating APIs and integrating enterprise applications using APIs with core application systems including OneShield Policy Administration, Billing, Claims Management, Identity Management Platforms and Content Platforms such as Box and ImageRight.
  • 3 years of experience developing applications using Python, Angular, Java, .NET, AWS Serverless architecture and AI Services.
  • 3 years of experience leading teams of 10+ resources and mentoring team on DevSecOps.
  • 3 years of relational databases skilled in creating complex DB models with JSON data types and advanced querying techniques.
