Principal Solution Architect, Enterprise API Platform

Experteer Overview In this role you shape enterprise-scale architecture for Guardian’s API platform, driving reusable patterns, guardrails, and cross-team alignment. You partner with Architecture, Engineering, Security, and Product teams to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant solutions that support modernization and AI-enabled capabilities. You influence strategy and pragmatic delivery across portfolios, balancing risks and business needs. You will lead high-impact architectural decisions and mentor engineers to raise organizational capabilities. Compensation / Benefits * Define and maintain reference architectures and reusable design patterns across platforms and domains * Establish architectural guardrails to enable scalable, secure solution design * Provide oversight for cross-portfolio design decisions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards * Lead enterprise-level decisions for complex initiatives spanning multiple value streams * Drive early engagement to identify dependencies, risks, and scalability constraints * Partner on build-vs-buy guidance and integration patterns for API platforms * Mentor architects and engineers to elevate architectural maturity * Represent architecture in enterprise forums and align roadmaps with product and business leadership * Shape API modernization and domain-aligned data models, enabling AI-enabled platforms * Translate architecture decisions into business outcomes and communicate value and risk to leadership Tasks * Deep experience designing and governing enterprise-scale architectures across multiple teams * Experience modernizing API ecosystems, including management and lifecycle platforms * Ability to define and drive adoption of standards, frameworks, and reusable patterns * Strong understanding of APIs, cloud platforms, data flows, and AI considerations * Proven ability to operate at strategic and hands-on levels and influence without direct authority * Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences * Experience in regulated/risk-sensitive environments with governance needs * Mentoring experience and collaboration in Agile/product-based delivery models * Proven track record balancing pragmatic delivery with disruptive architectural thinking * Strong knowledge of MCP, agentic AI enablement, context-layer architecture, observability, governance, and security Key requirements *
