Job description

OVERVIEW: SILTT is seeking a broadly skilled Civil Engineer to support advanced data center and telecommunications infrastructure programs. In this role, you will serve as a technical force multiplier to both SILTT and our customers reviewing design documents, supporting constructability, and helping drive coordinated project delivery. Rather than authoring original designs, your focus will be on evaluating and validating third-party engineering packages for quality, compliance, and suitability to site-specific conditions. This role demands a clear thinker, a detail-oriented reviewer, and a collaborator able to bridge engineering with real-world implementation. WHO WE ARE: At SILTT we’re pushing the limits of infrastructure innovation in the Telecommunications and Information Technology industry. From delivering world-class modular data center facilities to all-hours, 365-day operational response and disaster recovery, our multi-functional team of experts are force multipliers across the infrastructure landscape. We pride ourselves in leading from the front to advise, assist, and accompany our clients through their toughest technological and operational challenges. We always deliver results (we spell it ā€œre-SILTTsā€)! WHY SILTT? At SILTT, ā€œobjective-drivenā€ means first being ā€œpeople-drivenā€. As a small business we know that the ability to achieve our mission demands we take care of our own by providing our team members with a variety of benefits that allow them to live fulfilling, healthy, balanced, meaningful lives. That’s why we believe in offering paid healthcare, ultra-competitive 401K matching, accrued paid time off and fixed holiday leave, continuous learning and professional development incentives, and promote a sustainable work-life balance. A CALL TO ACTION: As SILTT continues to grow in the world of critical infrastructure, we are seeking a capable and driven Civil Engineer to support the planning and delivery of high-performance data center and telecommunications facilities. This role spans a wide range of responsibilities from early due diligence and utility coordination to storm water management, grading, and constructability reviews. This position is essential to ensuring engineering solutions are technically sound, field-ready, and aligned with the fast-paced demands of modern infrastructure delivery. A DAY IN THE LIFE: In this role, you will apply civil engineering expertise to support the planning, design, and delivery of technically complex infrastructure, primarily data centers and telecommunications facilities. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Support early-stage efforts including floodplain, seismic risks and geotechnical due diligence reviews Review grading and earthwork plans to drive efficiency and minimize dirt movement Assist with rights-of-way, easement, and coordination of external infrastructure and utilities including water, sewer, electrical, and communications Review stormwater and environmental management plans and permitting Interpret local codes, permitting requirements, and regulatory constraints to confirm compliance. Advocate for and review for sustainable civil engineering practices Participate in technical reviews of site layouts, utility planning, and access routes to support logistics and operational requirements Assist in the development and review of construction documents, RFIs, and field change proposals during execution. Attend coordination meetings with consultants, general contractors, and client representatives to resolve design issues and align on technical solutions. Contribute to the refinement of technical specifications, design standards, and quality benchmarks for civil scopes Identify and document lessons learned from each project to support continuous improvement of civil review processes, coordination workflows, and technical standards.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 8 years of professional experience in civil engineering, preferably supporting industrial, mission-critical, or utility-scale infrastructure. Strong proficiency in evaluating mass grading, pavement profiles, and site drainage design for constructability and value-engineering opportunities, in addition to navigation local civil permitting and utility entitlement frameworks Proven ability to coordinate civil/structural work with architectural, MEP, and low-voltage disciplines. Experience interpreting and applying civil codes, zoning regulations, and permitting requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Proficiency with engineering review and documentation tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, Revit, ACC). Demonstrated ability to review design submittals, RFIs, shop drawings), and field changes for technical compliance and constructability. Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to work effectively with internal teams, consultants, and contractors. Availability to travel to domestic and international project sites as needed.

About the company

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS: Partially remote. This role is primarily office-based but may be performed remotely as project needs allow. Occasional travel is expected to support field verifications, site-adapt design reviews, customer coordination, and construction-phase activities. Additional travel may be required to attend project kickoffs, stakeholder meetings, or vendor coordination sessions. SILTT is on a quest for professionals with diverse experiences, backgrounds, views, and talents. It’s our belief that innovation and inspiration come from passionate people that challenge each other’s biases and can communicate effectively through conflict as one team. We hire based on performance and merit… and nothing else. Flexible work from home options available.
