Principal Engineer, Ads DevAI Platform

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the design and delivery of the DevAI infrastructure for Google Ads, enabling AI-powered optimization and scalable engineering workflows. You will guide cross-functional teams across Ads, Core, and GDM to shape AI-driven roadmaps and architecture. You’ll balance deep technical guidance with strategy to solve complex problems and drive high-impact innovation. This position offers the chance to influence how Ads leverages AI at scale and contribute to a critical company mission. Compensation / Benefits * Design and build foundational DevAI infrastructure for Ads with extensibility and ROI in mind * Provide technical leadership for cross-cutting AI projects, including marquee agents and AI-friendly infrastructure * Drive the transition to AI-forward architectures and self-managing codebases * Lead the DevAI platform strategy and development, mentoring AI-focused teams across Ads infrastructure * Collaborate with senior engineers across Ads PAGs, Core, and GDM to influence roadmaps and direction Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or other relevant engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience * 15 years of professional engineering experience * Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering (preferred) * Experience providing technical leadership across a large organization * Knowledge of Google Ads products, ecosystems, and competitors’ offerings * Ability to balance detailed technical guidance with broad strategic thinking * Track record of technical innovation in large, cross-functional environments Key requirements * competitive salary * 30% bonus target * equity * benefits * career growth opportunities * global impact
