AI & Machine Learning Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will build and deploy AI/ML solutions across USAA’s lines of business, collaborating with data scientists to deliver production-ready models and data pipelines. You will develop APIs and ML infrastructure, participate in the full ML lifecycle, and work across cloud and on-prem environments to enable advanced customer service. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position that contributes to GenAI initiatives and scalable AI capabilities for member service. You will join a mission-driven team that supports the military community and emphasizes risk-aware, compliant engineering. Compensation / Benefits * Contribute to development, testing, and integration of ML-driven processes that inform business activities * Refactor model code with data scientists to production-ready, maintainable solutions * Adhere to ML development standards and coding best practices * Collaborate across teams on ML projects including data pipelines, deployment, and API development for GenAI applications * Design and write test scripts to verify data integrity and functionality * Build familiarity with ML engineering best practices via training and code review of existing solutions * Configure and manage AI/ML infrastructure in cloud/on-prem environments (AWS, GCP, graph databases) * Identify, measure, and manage risks in accordance with compliance policies * Support production systems and provide IT/engineering support for ML solutions Tasks * Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant education/experience * 2+ years of ML engineering, data engineering, or software development experience implementing data solutions * Programming with Python and SQL * Working understanding of data engineering concepts * Experience implementing ML solutions and familiarity with DS principles * Experience with ML libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn) * Cloud platform fundamentals with AWS or GCP * Effective communication in a team setting Key requirements * comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans * 401(k) and pension * life insurance * parantal benefits and adoption assistance * paid time off and paid holidays * paid volunteer hours and wellness programs
