Job description
We are seeking a Data Center H&F Support Engineer to provide hands-on support for data center infrastructure operations in a 24x7 environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with server hardware, rack/stack activities, cabling, break-fix support, installations, and decommissioning of data center equipment., * Provide 24x7 operational support for data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking equipment, and racks.
- Perform hands-on data center activities including rack and stack, hardware installation, cabling (fiber/copper), troubleshooting, and equipment replacement.
- Install, configure, test, and decommission data center hardware including servers, storage devices, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Perform break/fix activities and resolve hardware-related incidents within defined SLAs.
- Execute hardware moves, additions, changes, and maintenance activities.
- Support data center projects, new equipment deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Manage rack space, power, cooling, and capacity planning activities.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for installations, repairs, and troubleshooting.
- Monitor data center operations and ensure infrastructure availability.
- Maintain accurate documentation, inventory records, and operational procedures.
Requirements
- 3-7 years of experience in data center operations or hardware support.
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Servers and storage hardware
- Rack/stack and cable management
- Fiber and copper cabling
- Hardware installation and troubleshooting
- Break/fix support
- Experience supporting enterprise data center environments.
- Basic knowledge of networking devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Experience working in a 24x7 shift-based support environment.
- Ability to handle incidents, service requests, and follow SLA requirements.
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data center monitoring and operational tools.
- Knowledge of capacity planning and infrastructure management.
- Vendor coordination experience.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing systems.
Work Environment:
- Fully onsite data center role.
- Must be flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Requires physical activity including equipment handling and movement within the data center.
