Technical Administrator IT Data Infrastructure

Experteer Overview In this role you manage and evolve our iRODS-based data infrastructure to securely store and quickly access large research datasets. You collaborate with researchers and IT colleagues to shape the future IT environment for scientific work. You resolve user tickets, contribute to ICT projects, and work with internal and external partners to improve systems. This is a hands-on position in a dynamic, research-driven setting with meaningful impact on cancer research. Pay / Benefits * Implement, manage and optimize iRODS-based data infrastructure to store diverse research data securely across storage tiers * Shape strategic decisions about the IT environment for scientific research * Resolve tickets and support users in working with the data infrastructure * Contribute to innovative ICT projects and develop new solutions * Collaborate with internal colleagues and external suppliers to improve ICT systems quality and efficiency Tasks * Bachelor in ICT * Experience with Linux * Programming and scripting: Python, C++, C#, JavaScript, Bash * Knowledge of PostgreSQL and Azure/cloud storage is a plus * Knowledge of research data management or willingness to develop in this area, especially with iRODS * Client- and results-oriented; quality focus * Analytical mindset and calm under pressure * Able to work independently and in a team * Clear communication with IT and researchers; good English; Dutch a plus * Structured, project-based and efficient working style Key requirements * year’s contract for 32-36 hours per week with prospect of permanent contract * gross monthly salary 3.903,00- to 5.503,00- (FWG 55; could be FWG 60 with higher autonomy) * 144 holiday hours and 57 Personal Life Budget hours * annual holiday pay 8.33% and end-of-year bonus 8.33% * travel allowance 0.23 per km * free parking and bike/public transport benefits
