AI Engineer, Manager - Tax Transformation

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-enabled tax software, guiding a team to deliver high-quality solutions. You will partner with cross-functional colleagues and clients to translate business needs into robust Python-based applications. You drive architectural decisions, code quality, and scalable performance while mentoring engineers. This position combines technical leadership with client-facing collaboration to advance Deloitte Tax’s AI initiatives. Compensation / Benefits * Define and enforce coding standards across projects * Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and guidelines adherence * Lead a team, balance independent work with collaboration, and guide day-to-day operations * Communicate clearly with team members and clients * Design, develop, and maintain robust Python applications * Write clean, efficient code following best practices * Optimize performance and scalability, ensure data handling efficiency * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions * Identify and resolve technical issues; ensure reliability and performance * Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for code, processes, and workflows * Provide mentorship to junior developers and foster a collaborative, productive environment Tasks * 5+ years of development experience with robust Python applications * Hands-on web development experience with FastAPI and Pydantic for validation * Proficiency in asynchronous/parallel programming with asyncio * Experience working in Agile environments and with core design patterns * Proficiency in .NET Core, ASP.NET Core Web API, and databases (SQL/NoSQL, Entity Framework) * Ability to travel up to 10% * Possession of one of: Licensed CPA, Licensed Attorney, Enrolled Agent, or relevant technology certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, CISSP, SAFe, CSSLP, etc.) * Experience with LLMs, LangGraph, agentic AI frameworks, prompt engineering, and multi-modal Gen AI models * Familiarity with RAG pipelines, vector databases, and Azure DevOps Build/Release * Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills * Hybrid work readiness (in-person 2-3 days/week) Key requirements *
