Job description

Experteer Overview In this Lead Software Engineer role at AT&T, you design and enhance cloud-native platform capabilities that empower enterprise teams deploying Kubernetes-based applications. You will collaborate with developers, security, and architecture partners to reduce delivery friction and standardize containerized environments. You help scale platform solutions, improve onboarding, and advance modernization while upholding security and compliance. This is a chance to shape scalable, secure software delivery within a strategic containers initiative. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, and support container-based platform solutions to boost developer productivity and software delivery * Build and maintain Kubernetes platform capabilities, reusable deployment patterns, and automation frameworks * Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for secure, scalable deployment * Create and maintain Helm charts, deployment templates, and platform automation tools * Partner with application teams to improve onboarding, self-service, and adoption of containerized solutions * Implement security practices across containerized environments including vulnerability management and compliance controls * Support platform reliability, performance optimization, and operational excellence initiatives * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive cloud-native engineering standards and platform modernization * Troubleshoot complex issues in containerized environments and implement long-term solutions * Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to continuous platform innovation Tasks * 5+ years of experience developing enterprise software applications using Java * Advanced Bash scripting, Linux OS internals, and Containers/OCI (Podman) * CI/CD pipeline engineering, Python * Experience with Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Packer * Hands-on experience with Kubernetes environments (AKS) and Helm * Strong knowledge of containerization and modern software delivery practices * Experience with infrastructure automation and DevOps methodologies * Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * Commitment to learning new technologies in a fast-paced environment Key requirements * Medical/Dental/Vision coverage * 401(k) plan * Tuition reimbursement program * Paid Time Off and Holidays * Paid Parental Leave * Adoption Reimbursement
