Job description

Shape what’s next for mission-critical government projects while advancing your engineering leadership career., As a Software Development Manager, the work you’ll do at GDIT will directly support our customers’ mission by delivering intuitive, secure, and scalable web applications that improve the user experience for mission-critical systems. You will lead a team of front-end developers responsible for building modern, responsive applications that enable users to efficiently accomplish their objectives.

  • Lead a team of front-end software engineers in the design, development, and delivery of modern web applications, ensuring high-quality, accessible, and maintainable solutions that support mission success.

  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product owners, back-end engineers, DevSecOps teams, architects, and customer stakeholders to translate business requirements into engaging, user-centered applications.

  • Drive front-end engineering best practices through code reviews, technical mentorship, Agile delivery, component reuse, performance optimization, and continuous improvement while fostering innovation and technical excellence across the team.

  • Utilize modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3/SCSS, RESTful APIs, Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and Agile development methodologies to deliver scalable and secure applications.

Experience:

7 + years of related experience, Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Software Development Manager must have:

  • Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science

  • Experience: 7+ years of related experience leading software development teams and delivering enterprise web applications

  • Technical skills: Experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js; JavaScript/TypeScript; HTML5/CSS3; responsive web design; REST APIs; Git; CI/CD; automated testing (Jest, Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium); Agile methodologies; application optimization and software development leadership.

  • Security clearance level: Secret (or ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance)

  • US citizenship required

  • Strong communication and mentoring skills; ability to balance technical leadership with people management; experience delivering secure enterprise web applications.

Location: Customer Site (Tampa, FL).

Benefits & conditions

The likely salary range for this position is $112,840 - $143,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
