Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will own and evolve Varda’s ground segment software and mission platform, enabling reliable spacecraft operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide telemetry, commanding, and mission-control tooling that support on-orbit activities and post-flight analysis. You’ll build fast, safe software and self-service tooling to accelerate iteration across lab, test, and flight environments. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape the core software that scales Varda’s orbital ecosystem. Compensation / Benefits * Develop and maintain high-reliability telemetry ingestion, distribution, and commanding services with deterministic real-time behavior * Create operator-grade mission control UIs and dashboards to reduce ops time and cognitive load * Build flight-software simulation, device emulation, and scenario-based automated tests for avionics and GNC teams * Design, implement, and productionize the mission platform including CI/CD, artifact management, IaC, and observability tooling * Develop deployment patterns for labs, test stands, and mission networks with safe rollout and air-gapped deployment strategies Tasks * 5+ years in developing spacecraft or safety-critical software * Proficiency with Python and strong language fundamentals * Solid systems fundamentals: concurrency, networking, performance, reliability * Experience building real-time data acquisition, scaling, and low-latency messaging services * Hands-on CI/CD, dependency/build systems, and infrastructure-as-code * End-to-end observability: logging, metrics, tracing * Experience with Docker and Kubernetes including release management and controlled network readiness Key requirements * 100% company-paid Medical, Dental, and Vision for employees and dependents * Flexible PTO policy and 12 paid holidays * Stock options and equity incentives * 401(k) with 6% employer match * Relocation assistance * Wellness and family benefits including Maven Clinic and gym reimbursement
