Cloud Backend Architect

As a Cloud Backend Architect, you will sit at the crossroads of high-level systems design and hands-on technical execution. You will understand the latest developments in cloud-native and container technology, shaping the platform’s future state while ensuring that theoretical designs translate perfectly to robust, secure, and highly automated cloud infrastructure.

• Architectural Evolution: Improve the platform’s overall architecture with a uncompromising focus on data security, high availability, and performance.
• Feature Innovation: Design and develop innovative platform services and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) features.
• Trusted Advisory: Act as a key technical authority on open-source-based public cloud architectures, guiding internal teams and strategic stakeholders.
• Hands-on Validation: Maintain a strong connection to the engineering plane-working directly at the console to back your architectural designs with working code and proof-of-concepts.
• End-to-End Automation: Consistently automate provisioning, integration, and platform scaling using standard infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks.
• Collaborative Engineering: Thrive within an open, trusting, and highly collaborative team of engineering specialists who actively support and elevate one another.

• Education: Completed university studies in Computer Science, Engineering, a related scientific field, or equivalent practical and professional training.
• Experience: 5-7 years of professional IT experience, with a sharp focus on modern public cloud-native systems.
• Architectural Depth: Deep knowledge of software-defined architectures, modern cloud topologies, and container ecosystem designs.
• Systems & Networking: In-depth knowledge of Linux environments, core system utilities, and network-related services.
• Automation Focus: Proven experience with infrastructure automation, configuration management, and deployment pipelines.
• Mentorship & Communication: Strong presentation and technical mentoring skills, with the ability to explain complex architectural concepts to various technical and business audiences.
• Agile Mindset: Comfortable navigating agile development and operational environments with a strong customer-first perspective.
• Analytical & Creative Mind: The capability to critically evaluate complex technical challenges and design innovative, elegant solutions.
• Location & Compliance: You must live and work within the European Union to fulfill our customers’ strict data privacy, security, and compliance requirements.
• Language: Fluency in written and spoken English.Fluency in the language of the country of residence would be considered as an advantage., * Hands-on design and engineering experience within the OpenStack ecosystem.
• An active track record of programming or contributing to open-source software projects.
