Working within the IT Operations team, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the technology environment remains reliable, secure and highly available, while contributing to infrastructure improvements and wider technical projects. The Role

You’ll work across a broad infrastructure estate, with responsibilities including:

  • Maintaining and monitoring network, server, security and infrastructure systems
  • Administering Microsoft Windows Server environments
  • Supporting and optimising VMware and/or Hyper-V virtual environments
  • Managing Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online
  • Supporting HP and Cisco Meraki networking, including VLANs and VPNs
  • Managing SAN storage and associated networking
  • Working across on-premise, hosted and Azure environments
  • Using PowerShell to automate processes and administration
  • Proactively monitoring infrastructure performance, availability and capacity
  • Managing patching schedules and security compliance
  • Identifying and responding to infrastructure and security issues
  • Working with hosting and third-party providers to maintain optimal uptime
  • Testing and implementing hardware, software and infrastructure changes
  • Contributing to the design and delivery of technical projects
  • Maintaining infrastructure documentation and knowledge-base content
  • Providing 2nd and 3rd line technical expertise

Requirements

You’ll have a solid infrastructure background and experience working with business-critical technology environments, ideally including:

  • Windows Server
  • VMware and/or Hyper-V
  • Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online
  • Cisco Meraki and networking
  • VLANs and VPNs
  • PowerShell
  • Azure
  • SAN/storage technologies
  • Infrastructure monitoring, security and patch management

Experience within an e-commerce, high-transaction or similarly business-critical environment would be particularly beneficial.

Exposure to Linux/Unix, DevOps, ITIL or infrastructure project delivery would also be advantageous.

You’ll be a strong technical problem solver who can manage competing priorities, work effectively as part of a team and take a proactive approach to improving infrastructure performance and resilience.
