Job description
The Solutions Designer executes a variety of architectural assignments, providing services in the research, design, and development of automated material handling systems. This role collects and analyzes technician data from the customer to determine project requirements and problems, and designs a solution based on customer parameters., * Analyzes customer data to develop thorough understanding of customer requirements and problems to solve.
- Defines the main parameters for the solutions design.
- Creates the Material flow diagram and the Performance Line Diagram of the project.
- Calculates the operator performance rates based on a MOST calculation (Maynard Operation Sequence Technique).
- Designs and optimizes a material handling solution based on the customer requirements and main KPIs.
- Coordinates the system patents-proof for the selected concept with the patent department.
- Provides information to other departments for the simulation of the standard systems and the whole solution.
- Participates in the creation of the project proposal
- Understands basic material handling software functionality and ensures that the solution is feasible and compatible with TGW Software.
- Partners with sales to develop effective selling strategies and provide proper coordination and engineering to develop proposals in order to land orders.
- Understands and utilizes TGW Core Technologies CD, TGW Technical Application Bulletins, and CAD drawings and exchanges this information with TGW associates and customers.
- Trains associates in the areas of material handling systems design and TGW product portfolio.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in System design?, Do you have a Bachelor’s degree?, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of material handling systems design experience.
Travel:
Up to 10% domestic travel and 1-2 weeks of international travel per year.
Skills & Abilities
- Ability to analyze and understand customer business processes (overall knowledge of intralogistics).
- Comfort working in multi-disciplinary and intercultural experts’ network.
- Strong presentation skills and ability to present confidently to external customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Basic knowledge in AutoCAD and Python preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.
- Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis.
- Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
