Job description

We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and professional Bereavement Support Administrator and Chapel Attendant to join our dedicated team.

This is a rewarding role supporting bereaved families during one of the most difficult times in their lives. You will provide administrative support, coordinate services and appointments, maintain accurate records, and assist with the day-to-day operation of the chapel, ensuring all visitors receive a respectful and caring experience.

The successful candidate will demonstrate empathy, discretion, and excellent organisational skills, while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service., Bereavement Support Administration

  • Act as a first point of contact for bereaved families, funeral directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide sensitive and professional support via telephone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
  • Process bookings, appointments, and documentation accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain confidential records in accordance with data protection requirements.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and service documentation.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to ensure the smooth delivery of services.

  • Can work professionally and sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds and faiths.
  • Has experience working in an administrative, customer-facing, or support role.
  • Is confident using Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times., * Experience in an administrative or customer service environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work accurately under pressure.
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer care during sensitive circumstances.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience working within bereavement services, funeral services, healthcare, local government, or a similar sector.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience coordinating events or services.
