Distributed Network Engineer/Architect

Experteer Overview In this role you will own the distributed networking architecture across multiple teams, shaping the control plane and data plane decisions for large-scale systems. You will drive the technical strategy for routing, switching, and network control at enterprise and ISP scale, spanning cloud and networking domains. You’ll work with networking, security and distributed-systems teams to deliver high-availability, multi-tenant solutions at global scale. This is a hands-on staff-level opportunity with high impact and cross-functional influence, in a fast-growing company. Pay / Benefits * Own distributed networking architecture and design decisions across multiple teams * Take technical ownership of large-scale network and control plane systems * Define and drive strategy for routing, switching, and control planes at enterprise/ISP scale * Collaborate with networking, security and distributed-systems teams to align technical direction * Craft and present architectural guidance and RFCs * Influence cross-team implementation and deployment of distributed networking solutions Tasks * Extensive hands-on experience in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or telecom networking with staff-level impact * Deep expertise in routing protocols TCP/IP, QoS, DHCP, and data center/cloud networking architectures * Backend engineering skills in Rust/Go with production-grade distributed systems experience * Ability to design systems processing PB-scale data with multi-tenant isolation and high availability * Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker and at least one major cloud platform (OCI, AWS) * Deep understanding of low-level systems: packet processing, hardware interaction, control/data plane optimization * Excellent written and verbal communication to author RFCs and align teams around direction * UK resident and eligible for SC clearance Key requirements *
