Senior Category Manager - IT (Cloud and Infrastructure)

Experteer Overview In this role you shape the IT Cloud & Infrastructure category and lead procurement strategy to deliver value for SSE’s cloud, hosting, compute, and storage services. You’ll partner with IT, Finance, Legal, and Architecture teams to guide sourcing, contracting, and governance, supporting transformation programmes and future capability. The position is visible, impact-driven, and sits at the heart of how SSE partners with cloud providers while delivering commercial outcomes. You will thrive in a collaborative environment and influence senior stakeholders to enable sustainable value. Pay / Benefits * Shape and deliver the category strategy for IT Cloud & Infrastructure with a multi-year roadmap * Design and implement commercial and contracting models for cloud, hosting, and infrastructure services * Partner with senior stakeholders across IT, Finance and Legal to guide sourcing decisions * Use internal and external insight to guide sourcing strategies and cloud partnerships * Provide updates to Head of Procurement for IT & Telco on category performance and direction Tasks * Extensive experience in IT procurement across Cloud (IaaS, PaaS), Hosting, Infrastructure and Data Centre services * Strong understanding of category management and strategic category development * Deep knowledge of cloud commercial models including consumption-based pricing, reservation models, marketplace procurement and cost optimisation * Collaborative approach with ability to influence senior stakeholders using evidence-based recommendations * CIPS qualification desirable; experience in regulated sectors such as energy or utilities beneficial Key requirements * private healthcare discounts * gym memberships * online GP * 24/7 counselling * interest-free loans for tech and transport * Cycle to Work scheme
