Job description

Financial Services Firm is hiring for an experienced Application DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team supporting critical technology platforms. This is a hands-on role focused on Python automation, production stability, application resilience and continuous improvement within a complex, high-volume technology environment. You will work across application, infrastructure and engineering teams to improve the reliability, scalability and operational performance of business-critical platforms.

Responsibilities:

Develop Python-based automation and tooling to improve operational efficiency.
Support and enhance critical production applications and services.
Drive improvements across resilience, availability, performance and capacity.
Manage deployments, releases, production readiness and failover activities.
Implement monitoring, alerting and observability solutions.
Troubleshoot complex application, infrastructure and batch-processing issues.
Identify root causes and deliver sustainable technical solutions.
Contribute to CI/CD, automation and wider DevOps and engineering best practices.

Requirements

Strong Python development skills, particularly for automation & operational tooling.
Experience in DevOps, Production Engineering, Platform Engineering or SRE.
Experience supporting business-critical, high-availability applications.
Good understanding of CI/CD, deployment, monitoring and software development lifecycles.
Knowledge of distributed systems, resilience, failover and capacity management.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across applications and infrastructure.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proactive approach with strong ownership and problem-solving capability.

It would be an added advantage if you had any of the following:

Financial Services, Capital Markets or Trading Technology experience.
Exposure to risk, trading or regulatory technology.
Cloud, containers and modern DevOps tooling.
Large-scale distributed or high-performance computing environments.
