Job description
The SharePoint Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, securing, and optimizing the organization’s SharePoint environment. This role will ensure reliable collaboration, effective content management, platform availability, and system performance. The administrator will handle SharePoint configuration, permissions, troubleshooting, upgrades, security, backup and recovery, and end-user support., * Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain SharePoint environments.
- Manage SharePoint site collections, content databases, document libraries, web applications, and related components.
- Perform daily platform monitoring, system health checks, and troubleshooting.
- Manage user accounts, permission levels, security groups, and access controls.
- Implement and maintain SharePoint security controls, including encryption, firewalls, security zones, and compliance requirements.
- Execute backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Provide technical and end-user support for SharePoint-related issues.
- Monitor storage capacity, usage, activity, and system performance.
- Identify and resolve performance issues and optimize the SharePoint environment.
- Apply patches, updates, hotfixes, and version upgrades in accordance with established procedures.
- Support SharePoint availability, reliability, and overall platform health.
Secondary / Value-Added Skills
- Develop PowerShell scripts to automate SharePoint administration and routine operational tasks.
- Collaborate with application developers and technical teams to deploy custom SharePoint solutions, workflows, integrations, and applications.
- Design and maintain SharePoint site structures, templates, libraries, lists, and workflows.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, governance policies, operating procedures, and system configuration documentation.
- Provide end-user training and guidance to improve SharePoint adoption and effective platform utilization.
- Work with related Microsoft technologies, including:
- Active Directory
- SQL Server
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365
- IIS
- Power BI
- HTML/CSS
- JavaScript
- Manage SharePoint site lifecycle activities, including provisioning, maintenance, archiving, and decommissioning.
- Ensure SharePoint configurations and content management practices comply with organizational security, governance, retention, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft SharePoint environments.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint architecture, permissions, site collections, libraries, lists, and web applications.
- Experience with SharePoint troubleshooting, monitoring, patching, upgrades, backup, and recovery.
- Experience managing Active Directory and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Knowledge of SQL Server and IIS in relation to SharePoint administration.
- Understanding of Microsoft security, compliance, governance, and access-control practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and end-user support skills.
