Job description

Kforce’s client is seeking a hands-on IT professional to join a growing technology team and play a key role in shaping the future of IT operations across the organization. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with IT leadership as one of the primary members of the technology team, helping establish the processes, standards, and infrastructure that will support the business for years to come. This is a contract role to start with opportunity to convert to FTE based on performance. The position requires some onsite work., * Administer and support enterprise infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, cloud services, and end-user systems

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure and application issues across multiple business locations
  • Assist with the design, implementation, and support of technology initiatives that improve operational efficiency and reliability
  • Develop and maintain IT documentation, procedures, and technical standards
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and reporting solutions to improve system visibility and uptime
  • Partner with leadership to enhance cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve consistency
  • Support hardware and software lifecycle management, including upgrades, deployments, and vendor coordination
  • Contribute to the development of scalable IT processes, governance, and best practices
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for both end users and business leadership, We’re looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to help build a modern, scalable IT organization from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building and improving environments rather than simply maintaining existing systems. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence technology decisions, modernize infrastructure, enhance security, improve operational maturity, and help define the long-term direction of the IT function.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting Microsoft-based infrastructure environments
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and enterprise networking fundamentals
  • Experience supporting virtualization technologies, cloud platforms, or hybrid environments
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience across servers, networks, endpoints, and business applications
  • Understanding of IT security principles, patch management, backup solutions, and disaster recovery practices
  • Experience creating technical documentation and operational procedures
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

  • Experience within transportation, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or related operational environments
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and automation tools
  • Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks and security best practices
  • Experience helping build or mature IT processes within a small or growing organization
  • Prior technical leadership, mentoring, or project leadership experience

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
