Job description

Job Summary: Under limited supervision, coordinates, designs, and secures computer databases to store, track, and maintain a large volume of critical business information. Serves as highest advanced-level subject matter expert, providing authoritative guidance for professional staff. May also serve in a lead role.

  • Configure, maintain, and optimize monitoring solutions using Dynatrace.
  • Enable end-to-end visibility across infrastructure, systems, and applications.
  • Develop dashboards, alerts, and health checks to ensure system health and reliability.
  • Monitor service performance and availability and set alert thresholds to minimize false positives.
  • Monitor Windows/Linux servers, virtual environments, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Support monitoring of databases, middleware, and network components.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams to identify trends and capacity needs.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact production.
  • Use Dynatrace to monitor application performance and transaction flows.
  • Support synthetic monitoring and real user monitoring.
  • Work closely with application teams to ensure comprehensive monitoring coverage.
  • Assist in troubleshooting performance issues at both the application and system level.
  • Participate in incident response efforts related to performance and availability.
  • Provide monitoring insights during troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Identify and close monitoring gaps.
  • Enhance monitoring standards and documentation.
  • Recommend improvements to monitoring configurations and alert strategies.
  • Support integration of monitoring tools with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in systems engineering, infrastructure support, or monitoring roles.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Dynatrace or similar APM tools.
  • Knowledge of Windows/Linux servers, virtualized environments (VMware), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Basic networking understanding (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing).
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools like PowerShell or Bash (preferred).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes or container monitoring.
  • Experience with ITIL practices and regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, financial services).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration across teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset.
