Experteer Overview As an Embedded Linux Software Engineer II at Collins Aerospace (RTX), you design and optimize BSP and embedded Linux solutions for mission systems hardware. You will work closely with software, hardware, and FPGA teams to deliver robust OS and driver stacks. The role centers on bootloaders, kernel tailoring, and board support across diverse boards, with emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction. You’ll contribute to cutting-edge aerospace technologies in a collaborative, safety-focused environment. This is a chance to influence next-gen embedded platforms in aerospace and defense with a leading industry team. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop and evolve a customized Linux OS ecosystem, managing build toolchains, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, device drivers, and BSP. * Contribute to the design, coding, testing, delivery and ongoing support for embedded Linux software systems. * Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex hardware-software issues. * Prepare software builds for simulation, reference platforms, and target hardware. * Follow Collins Aerospace processes and tools to improve product quality and customer satisfaction. * Provide engineering estimates for tasks such as change requests or problem reports. Tasks * Master’s degree in Software Engineering (or related STEM) obtained by start date * Mid-level skills in embedded C/C++ * Experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python) * Experience can be gained through on-the-job work, research, coursework, or projects Key requirements * relocation * medical, dental, vision * 401(k) match * paid time off * flexible work schedules * Employee Scholar Program
