Job description

Experteer Overview As Qualys Platform Lead, you own and optimize Caterpillar’s enterprise vulnerability management using Qualys. You will govern platform configuration, scanning operations, and data quality, while coordinating with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Cloud, and governance teams to drive risk-based remediation. You’ll leverage AI-assisted analytics to improve prioritization and reduce false positives, shaping how we detect and address exploitable risks at scale. This role offers meaningful impact across a global environment and cross-functional collaboration. Compensation / Benefits * Manage Qualys platform configurations, scans, and scanner appliances, including schedules, authentication, asset tagging, and access controls * Ensure high availability, accuracy, and scalability of enterprise-wide vulnerability scanning * Maintain integrations between Qualys and ServiceNow, CMDB, cloud platforms, and reporting systems * Oversee host discovery, authenticated scans, Cloud Agent deployments, and scanner appliance operations * Analyze vulnerability data to identify trends, gaps, and systemic issues; support risk-based prioritization using Qualys capabilities and threat intel * Leverage AI-assisted security analytics to improve prioritization and remediation decisions; evaluate AI insights to reduce false positives * Use predictive analytics to identify emerging vulnerability trends and exposure areas * Collaborate with Governance and Compliance to support audits and controls; document processes and standards * Drive automation for asset onboarding, reporting, ticketing, and scanning workflows * Identify process gaps and propose improvements to enhance vulnerability management maturity across the organization Tasks * Vulnerability management and security operations expertise * Hands-on experience with Qualys or similar vulnerability management platforms * Vulnerability scanning, authenticated scans, Cloud Agents, and asset management * Knowledge of Windows, Linux, TCP/IP networking, AWS and Azure * Experience analyzing vulnerability data, CVSS scores, and threat intelligence * Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills * Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and predictive risk modeling * Experience using AI tools like Microsoft Copilot or Security Copilot for security operations and reporting * Ability to collaborate across security, infrastructure, and application teams Key requirements * Medical, dental, and vision benefits * Paid time off (vacation, holidays, volunteering) * 401(k) savings plan * Health Savings Account (HSA) * Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) * Career development opportunities
