Experteer Overview In this role you will design, develop and integrate embedded software for mission-critical missile-defense systems. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced environment. You’ll drive architecture, testing, and tool development while advancing modern practices and AI-enabled development. This position offers impact across defense-grade systems and the opportunity to mentor peers in a technically challenging domain. Compensation / Benefits * Architect and develop full-stack airborne system software, including embedded design, coding, peer reviews, and unit testing * Own the integration of modular software across subsystems and networks * Leverage DevOps/CI-CD to ensure quality and timely delivery * Contribute to tools, harnesses, and infrastructures for integrated solutions * Lead and contribute to design, development, testing, and debugging of embedded systems * Apply SDLC practices including requirements analysis and hardware compatibility assessment * Recommend new technologies and standards aligned with organizational goals * Lead and mentor teammates while aligning with technical strategy * Identify improved workflows and engineering practices, including AI-enabled development capabilities Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical discipline with GPA 3.0; 8+ years experience or 6+ years with master’s degree * 5+ years of real-time embedded system experience in defense, aerospace, or safety-critical platforms (preferred) * U.S. Citizenship and active DoD Secret Security Clearance * Residence in North Alabama or willingness to relocate to Huntsville-North Alabama * Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems * Experience with RTOS (VxWorks, Integrity, FreeRTOS) * Proficiency with embedded processors/microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex, RISC-V) * Experience with embedded debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, etc.) * Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and test automation in safety/mission-critical programs * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in teams Key requirements *
