Mid-Level Embedded Software Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will design and build embedded software and full-stack solutions for airborne systems, supporting tactical, sensors, CUAS, and UAS applications. You’ll work within a defense-focused team to architect robust software, drive DevOps practices, and deliver components from concept to deployment. You’ll mentor junior engineers and collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to define requirements and resolve technical issues. Compensation / Benefits * Design and architect full-stack software solutions for airborne systems, including embedded software architecture and integration across subsystems and networks * Lead technical design decisions and influence solutions within the software development lifecycle using DevOps and CI/CD * Develop software tools, test harnesses, and infrastructure for integrated solutions * Mentor and review junior engineers on design patterns, coding standards, and best practices * Communicate with customers, end users, and stakeholders to define requirements and drive deliverables * Take ownership of software components or subsystems from concept to deployment Tasks * Bachelor degree in a technical field with GPA 3.0+ * 4-8 years of relevant technical experience * Experience with embedded software, device drivers, and RTOS * Knowledge of software architecture for embedded and distributed systems * Strong teamwork and communication skills * Ability to coordinate across teams and manage technical dependencies * Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines * Experience with configuration management and automated build/test frameworks * Defense systems, avionics, or guided mmunitions knowledge is desirable * Mentoring engineers on best practices and leading technical design reviews Key requirements *
