Experteer Overview As a Senior Configuration Design Engineer, you will own architecture selection and optimization for advanced Group 5 UAS and missile programs. You will lead cross-functional design activities and mentor junior engineers, translating mission requirements into buildable aircraft concepts. You’ll define sizing methods and use parametric tools to drive robust design paths, while shaping proposals and roadmaps with Chief Engineers. Your work directly supports rapid, secure, and survivable aerospace systems for defense missions. This role offers meaningful impact by advancing high-performance platforms at scale within a mission-driven team. Compensation / Benefits * Lead end-to-end conceptual design for UAVs and missiles, including trade studies and architecture selection * Define aircraft sizing methodologies and apply design optimization tools to establish robust paths * Drive Outer Mold Lines and Inner Mold Lines design standards for downstream teams * Serve as technical decision-maker for early-stage pursuits, shaping proposals and roadmaps * Assess configuration options for low-observable survivability, propulsion integration, and structural feasibility * Manage high-level vehicle trade studies: engine selection, control layout, fuel systems, weapons integration, mass properties * Mentor junior engineers in CAD modeling, GD&T, and design release * Interface with IPTs, suppliers, and military customers to present concepts and resolve design challenges Tasks * Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering (or related field) * 8+ years in conceptual/preliminary aerospace design with leadership on UAS, military aircraft, or missiles * Expert 3D parametric CAD modeling, advanced surfacing, and lofting (NX preferred; CATIA or Creo acceptable) * Experience leading multi-disciplinary design teams and trade studies * Solid understanding of system architecture, mission requirements, and product development lifecycle * Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to write proposals and present to leadership * Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance Key requirements * equity grants * comprehensive benefits * health and recovery support * competitive compensation * top-tier benefits package * career growth opportunities
