Back-End Developer – PHP / C

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Back-End Developer to design, develop, maintain and improve critical PHP and C applications within a complex IT environment. The role is part of a multidisciplinary team working on the modernization of legacy systems and migration towards a modern architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test applications based on functional and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain PHP and C applications in a high-availability environment.
• Analyze user requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Maintain and improve existing applications and provide technical support.
• Develop and integrate REST and SOAP web services.
• Contribute to technical architecture and propose improvements to existing solutions.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Follow technological developments and provide technical recommendations.

Requirements

• Expert knowledge of PHP 5.6, 7 and 8, JavaScript and C.
• Strong experience with C server-side programming, including asynchronous programming and threads.
• Knowledge of REST/SOAP web services.
• Experience with AngularJS, Ajax, jQuery, CodeIgniter and Git/DevOps.
• Knowledge of Linux/Red Hat environments.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols.
• Knowledge of C#, Xamarin and related technologies is an advantage.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Dutch, French and English proficiency.

Practical Information

• Start: 15 September 2026
• Duration: Until end of 2026, extendable
• Workload: Full-time (40 hours/week)
• Location: Brussels
• Work model: Hybrid – minimum 2 days per week onsite
