Job description

Cloud Architect – Azure / Hybrid Infrastructure

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to design and guide secure, scalable, and reliable cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions within a complex public-sector environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and validate Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud architectures.
Develop cloud standards, landing zones, governance, and infrastructure strategies.
Design Azure networking, including VNets, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPN and ExpressRoute.
Define cloud security and Identity \& Access Management architectures, including Zero Trust, Entra ID and RBAC.
Design solutions for backup, disaster recovery, high availability and business continuity.
Support container platforms such as Kubernetes, OpenShift and AKS.
Implement and promote Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell or Azure CLI.
Establish monitoring, logging and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Defender for Cloud.
Ensure effective integration between on-premise infrastructure and cloud environments.
Provide architectural guidance, documentation and knowledge transfer to technical teams.
Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, database and project teams.

Requirements

Expert-level experience with Microsoft Azure Architecture and hybrid infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of Azure networking, cloud security and IAM.
Extensive experience with Terraform/Bicep and cloud automation.
Strong understanding of Kubernetes/container platforms.
Experience with Windows/Linux servers, virtualization and enterprise storage.
Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Dutch, French and English proficiency.
