Job description

This position is located at our Amsterdam Office, requires a minimum of 3 days per week onsite and may involve Travel and/or work outside normal business hours.

Function

We are looking for a passionate IT Professional to join the IT Infrastructure Department (“Platform Grid”) of ABN AMRO Clearing NL in the role of Infrastructure Architect (“Architect II”). The Platform Grid delivers Datacentre hosting services, Public & Private Cloud, Middleware, Database services, Networks and End User Services, Operational Resilience, Service Desk and 24*7 Operations Control.

The Infrastructure Architect will be part of the Global IT Resilience & Recovery Block within the Platform Grid, which is responsible for IT Continuity Management, IT Disaster Recovery and Backup & Restore capabilities across APAC, EMEA, US, and LATAM. This role is a temporary project assignment for 6 months to deliver the Business Requirements and Concept Design for the new EU 3rd Data Centre Project - Initiation Phase (with view to extend)., Develop High Level Concept Design for a new EU Data Centre (“Cyber Recovery DC”)

  • Translate Business requirements into clear functional/non-functional requirements
  • Maintain architectures in line with Global Target Arhcitecture, policies & standards and best-practices to increase reliability, resiliency, security, flexibility, quality and cost-efficiency in a global context
  • Liaise with CoE Architecture and IT Leadership to define our Data Centre Strategy
  • Collaborate closely with Technical Engineering Teams to develop the solution

With the following results (SMART)

  • Develop High Level Concept Design for Cyber Recovery Data Centre
  • Develop Business & Technical Requirements matrix - Functional/Non-Functional requirements
  • Support development of Business Case
  • Support DC Feasibility Assessments / Site Surveys
  • Support updating of Enterprise Cyber Recovery Strategy
  • Strong collaboration with CoE Architecture, Platform & Product Engineering Teams, Information Security, Risk Management and Management IT

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

  • Minimum 7-10 years’ in Technical Architectural roles, with direct involvement in large-scale Enterprise IT Architecture solutions
  • Experience in regulated Banking & Financial Services environments

Knowledge/Expertise

  • Strong experience designing in large-scale data center, and hybrid recovery environments, including backup, storage, replication, and failover solutions
  • Deep understanding of Cyber Resilience principles, Immutable backup storage, Cyber Recovery vaults, air-gapped environments, ransomware recovery, and clean room recovery architectures including cross-region recovery
  • Understanding of Data Centre Transformation &/or Construction Projects
  • Regulatory and industry frameworks including: ISO 22237, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, NIST/NIS2 and DORA.

Certifications

  • TOGAF / Gartner’s Enterprise Architecture Method or similar (desirable)
  • AWS / Azure Architect (desirable)
  • VCP-VCF VMWare or similar (desirable)
  • CCIE (desirable)
  • CISSP (desirable)
  • CDCDP (highly desirable)
