Help improve backend services for 9.5 million customers by building secure Java 21+ microservices and reliable digital banking experiences. You & your role Build and operate the backend services that power Rabobank’s digital experiences. As Software Engineer (Java 21+), you design secure microservices, improve observability, solve production challenges and help shape better solutions together with developers, architects, product owners and stakeholders. Examples for practices Design, develop and maintain Java-based microservices for business-critical digital banking platforms. Build scalable, secure and performant REST APIs that support reliable customer experiences. Improve reliability, observability and operational excellence across the platform. Improve reliability, observability and operational excellence through monitoring, logging, alerting and production support. Collaborate with developers, architects, product owners and stakeholders to challenge assumptions and shape better solutions. Within team GSM, you work on backend services that support Rabobank’s digital customer experiences. You collaborate closely with developers, architects, product owners and stakeholders to keep business-critical platforms secure, scalable and reliable.

You are a software engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and making systems better. You bring fresh ideas, think beyond the immediate requirement, and actively contribute to the direction of the team and platform. You combine strong hands-on development skills with an engineering mindset focused on quality, reliability and continuous improvement. Most importantly, you’re someone who sees opportunities, takes initiative, and helps move the team forward. 5+ years of demonstrable experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot Solid understanding of distributed microservice architectures and API design Experience with monitoring, logging, alerting and observability tooling Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and deployment practices Comfortable bringing forward ideas, challenging the status quo and influencing technical decisions Fluent in English and able to collaborate effectively with developers, architects, product owners and stakeholders Our Tech Stack Java 21+, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, SQL and NoSQL databases, Azure Cloud, Cloud Foundry, Maven, Git, Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, Splunk, PagerDuty and modern CI/CD pipelines
