Job description
We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to join a global technology services organisation on a 12-month hybrid contract based in London. The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, cloud environments, and DevOps best practices on Microsoft Azure, working closely with Development, QA, Security, and Operations teams within a financial services environment., * Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps YAML pipelines, automating build, deployment, testing, and release processes
- Implement branch management, version control, and release strategies, improving deployment reliability and reducing manual intervention through automation
- Provision and manage Azure infrastructure using Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep, configuring and maintaining resources including VMs, App Services, AKS, Azure Functions, and Storage Accounts
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of cloud environments
- Deploy and manage containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes (AKS), monitoring and optimising Kubernetes clusters and implementing container security best practices
- Implement monitoring and logging using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Grafana, performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting production issues
- Implement DevSecOps practices including vulnerability scanning and compliance checks
- Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bash, or Python to automate infrastructure provisioning and operational workflows
- Participate in architecture discussions and DevOps transformation initiatives, mentoring junior engineers and promoting DevOps best practices
Requirements
- 6+ years of hands-on Azure DevOps experience (essential)
- Strong expertise in Azure Cloud Services and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines using YAML
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM Templates, and Bicep
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)
- Experience with monitoring tools including Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics
- Strong Scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, Python, or Azure CLI
- Knowledge of networking, security, identity management, and RBAC
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Desirable: Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-305), experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, MLOps pipelines, Databricks or Snowflake deployment automation, Kafka/event streaming, Ansible, FinOps and Azure cost optimisation, and familiarity with DevSecOps tooling such as SonarQube, Veracode, or Checkmarx
