Job description

Experteer Overview As an Embedded Software Developer, you’ll design and maintain the toolchain and infrastructure that enables embedded Linux development. You will build and optimize firmware pipelines, automate testing, and support hardware validation through HIL and board-farm automation. You’ll partner with firmware, hardware, and QA teams to raise software quality and accelerate engineering velocity using AI-assisted workflows. This contract-to-hire role is onsite in Houston, offering exposure to cross-functional challenges in a fast-moving tech services environment. Join a transformation-minded team delivering measurable impact across embedded software and tooling. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, and maintain tooling and infrastructure supporting embedded Linux development * Build and optimize automated firmware build, test, packaging, provisioning, flashing, recovery, and release pipelines * Develop hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and board-farm automation for firmware validation and regression testing * Integrate static analysis, automated testing, and quality gates into the SDLC * Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and QA engineers to improve engineering processes Tasks * Professional experience with embedded software development using Linux, C++, and Python * Experience building and adopting AI-assisted engineering workflows (agent-driven tooling and autonomous engineering processes) Key requirements * Medical, dental & vision * 401(k) retirement plan * Life Insurance (Voluntary) * Short and long-term disability * Health Spending Account (HSA) * Transportation benefits
