Experteer Overview In this role you lead the State Estimation team to advance multi-object tracking and road-property estimation for Ford’s autonomy systems. You will translate research into production-grade perception components that feed motion planning, prediction, and localization. You’ll stay current with literature, drive end-to-end ML solutions, and guide verification and deployment efforts. This is a high-impact role at Latitude, blending robotics, ML, and systems engineering to improve driving safety and experience. You’ll contribute to next-generation autonomy and Ford’s Large Driving Model initiative, shaping perception on real vehicles. Compensation / Benefits * Lead a team to deliver critical functionality for next-generation autonomy, including multi-object tracking and road property estimation over time * Stay current with literature, analyze system performance, and design state-of-the-art solutions with the team * Develop ML models in modular and end-to-end frameworks * Collaborate with roboticists and ML engineers to deploy State Estimation solutions into production * Analyze failures, create verification/validation cases, and move ideas from concept to mass production * Contribute to next-generation autonomy development towards the Ford Large Driving Model Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field and 10+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years * Experience developing and shipping learned multi-object tracking systems * Experience with classical state estimation methods (e.g., Kalman filters, particle filters) * Significant experience with Python and/or C++ * Strong background in computer vision, perception, and machine learning * Proven track record of shipping ML-based computer vision solutions using PyTorch or alternatives (TensorFlow, JAX) Key requirements * Competitive compensation * Medical, dental, and vision insurance * Health savings account with employer match * Employer-matched 401(k) with immediate vesting * Paid parental leave * Unlimited vacation
