Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to join our client’s cyber security and risk advisory team. The role sits within an established cyber security team, giving you the opportunity to work alongside experienced specialists while supporting clients with a broad range of cyber, technology and compliance challenges.

This is a hands-on consulting role working directly with clients across a variety of sectors at different stages of their security maturity. The role offers a good balance of technical assessment, advisory work, and client engagement. You’ll be expected to understand the detail, but also the wider business context, to turn your findings into practical recommendations that clients can realistically implement.

This position would suit a well-rounded cyber security consultant who is comfortable working with stakeholders and technical teams who is eager to build on their consulting and information security experience. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of engagements while helping clients improve their cyber security maturity., * Deliver cyber and information security assessments, audits and control reviews.

  • Identify control weaknesses and risks, providing practical, tailored recommendations.
  • Support clients in developing and improving security controls aligned with frameworks including Cyber Essentials, ISO27001, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging threats, regulations and industry best practice.
  • Produce clear, high-quality reports, risk assessments and advisory documentation.
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to the development of internal methodologies and services.
  • Support business development through proposals, scoping, workshops, tenders and thought leadership.

Requirements

  • Experience with cyber security consulting, security auditing, or risk advisory.
  • Experience delivering cyber risk assessments or advisory engagements.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as Cyber Essentials, ISO27001, and NIST
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing engagements independently and collaboratively, delivering high-quality work to agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Experience supporting or delivering certification audits, such as ISO 27001 or Cyber Essentials.
  • Relevant certifications such as ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer, CISSP, CISA or CISM would be beneficial
  • Exposure to penetration testing or vulnerability assessments and familiarity with security technologies and controls would be beneficial
