Epic Beacon Analyst- PharmD

The Epic Beacon Pharmacist Analyst is responsible for the design, build, optimization, and ongoing support of Epic pharmacy and clinical applications across inpatient, ambulatory, and oncology settings. This role focuses on enabling safe, efficient, and compliant medication-use workflows, aligning build with best practices and regulatory standards, and partnering with pharmacy operations, clinical teams, research stakeholders, and IT to support enterprise-wide adoption and continuous improvement., * Design, build, and maintain Epic pharmacy and clinical application functionality, including medication workflows, treatment plans, formulary management, and integration with pharmacy automation technologies.

• Configure and optimize interfaces supporting retail, specialty, inpatient, oncology, and investigational pharmacy services, including inventory, dispensing, billing, and adjudication systems.
• Translate clinical and research protocols into Epic build requirements, ensuring integrity, safety, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
• Participate in workflow analysis, documentation, validation, and stakeholder working sessions to ensure solutions meet clinical and operational needs.
• Support prescription fulfillment, medication administration, prior authorization, and patient communication workflows in collaboration with pharmacy and clinical teams.
• Support medication therapy management (MTM), adherence programs, specialty workflows, and specialty protocols (e.g., REMS, cold chain logistics).
• Contribute to system validations, downtime planning, and development/maintenance of clinical decision support (CDS) tools.
• Serve as a liaison between pharmacy/clinical services and IT/EHR teams for medication-related initiatives and enhancements.
• Support change control processes, governance committees, and regulatory documentation needs.
• Develop and execute testing plans, document results, and provide troubleshooting, issue resolution, and enhancement implementation support.
• Identify and recommend optimization opportunities aligned with Epic upgrades and updates.
• Partner with reporting teams to ensure operational and regulatory reporting requirements are met.
• Mentor junior analysts and support end-user training on Epic best practices and workflow alignment.
• Participate in QA testing, research readiness, and go-live validation activities, as applicable.

• Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required
• Licensure: Active Pharmacist license (RPh/PS) required
• Epic: Current, active Epic certification (or Epic-verified proficiency) in Beacon and Willow required
• Experience:
• 5+ years of pharmacy practice or related experience with demonstrated involvement in clinical, informatics, or automation initiatives
• 5+ years of Epic build experience, including successful, high-complexity implementations
• Strong knowledge of healthcare workflows and application support/development, with excellent problem-solving and documentation skills
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with clinical and operational stakeholders, including leading meetings and presentations

Preferred Qualifications

• Data Courier badge preferred
• Experience in oncology and pharmacy regulatory/workflow requirements, including standards and bodies such as NCCN, ASCO/ONS, USP <797>/<800>, Joint Commission, URAC, ACHC, NIH, FDA, OHRP
• Epic build experience in inpatient, ambulatory, and/or oncology settings
• Experience with integration platforms/middleware and pharmacy automation technologies
• Experience with research billing guidelines and clinical trial/investigational pharmacy workflows
• Experience with provisioning/security and Active Directory structures
• Project lifecycle/project methodology experience
• Post-graduate training in pharmacy, oncology, or related specialty
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visio
• Additional professional certification in informatics, health IT, clinical, or business specialties
• Experience supporting initiatives in an academic medical center or NCI-designated cancer center
