Job description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Java Spring Boot Dev in Minneapolis, MN. Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement enterprise-grade microservices using Java 8/17/21 and the Spring Boot framework
  • Build scalable, secure, and maintainable backend solutions following microservices architecture principles
  • Analyze and assess user issues, perform system reviews, troubleshoot problems, and deliver timely resolutions
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced, agile, and team-oriented environment
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive unit and integration test coverage using JUnit and Mockito
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and performance issues
  • Ensure software solutions meet all functional, non-functional, quality, and security requirements
  • Produce clear technical documentation, API specifications, and operational guides for developed services
  • Share technical knowledge and mentor team members on best practices and modern development techniques
  • Create, deploy, monitor, and support microservices using Spring Boot and cloud-native development practices
  • Follow the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment, and support
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate microservices with relational and non-relational databases
  • Develop event-driven solutions leveraging messaging technologies such as Kafka
  • Create high-quality, scalable, resilient, and maintainable applications with a focus on backend systems and distributed architectures
  • Implement CI/CD best practices and ensure code quality through automated testing and code reviews

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java 8, Java 17, and/or Java 21
  • Extensive experience designing and developing Microservices using Spring Boot
  • Strong experience building RESTful APIs, web services, and distributed applications
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such as Kafka
  • Solid experience writing unit, integration, and automated tests using JUnit 5, Mockito
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, PL/SQL, and data integration patterns
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
  • Deep understanding of Spring ecosystem components, including: Spring Data JPA; Spring Security; Spring HATEOAS; Spring REST; Spring for Apache Kafka; JPA Criteria Query
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and clean coding practices
  • Knowledge of configuration and markup formats such as JSON, YAML, XML, and related technologies
  • Working knowledge of quality and security scanning tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, and WEB Inspect
  • Proficiency in source control and DevOps tools such as Git, Swagger/OpenAPI, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
