Job description

The Data Modeller will:

  • Design and develop conceptual, logical and physical data models for enterprise data platforms
  • Apply dimensional modelling approaches such as Kimball or Data Vault to support analytics use cases
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts and governance teams to ensure consistent data standards
  • Support multiple projects and ensuring modelling best practices are embedded across delivery
  • Contribute to the evolution of data architecture and helping define long term strategy
  • Work within a modern cloud environment using tools such as Microsoft Fabric and Databricks

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Strong commercial experience in data modelling across analytics or data platform environments
  • Solid understanding of dimensional modelling techniques including Kimball or Data Vault
  • Experience working in modern cloud data platforms, ideally within the Microsoft ecosystem or Azure
  • Exposure to tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect or similar modelling tools
  • Familiarity with technologies such as DBT, PySpark or Python is beneficial
  • Interest in progressing into a data architecture focused role
  • Ability to engage with both technical and non technical stakeholders
