Job description

We are looking for a Data Support Analyst to join Gulf Associates as a full-time, remote team member. This role involves assisting our senior team in providing commercial advisory services for complex investment decisions. Our partner is a Berlin-based entity that we support across several commercial advisory projects, and this position will focus heavily on that engagement. Unlike traditional consultancy roles that rely on abstract models, we prioritize commercial judgment and the ground reality of the markets where our clients operate. Your work will provide the evidence needed for chief executives and sovereign entities to make informed choices on capital deployment and joint ventures. What you will do

  • Organize and clean raw datasets from various market sources to ensure accuracy for senior analysis.
  • Conduct thorough desktop research on the history and behavioral patterns of potential counterparties in the territory.
  • Assist in building scenario work that tests the commercial logic and viability of partnership decisions.
  • Monitor the regulatory environment to track changes that could impact the outcome of active negotiations.
  • Create clear summaries and visualizations that translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Support the drafting of internal position papers and briefings used during client meetings.
  • Identify and flag discrepancies in public filings or reports produced by external competitors.
  • Maintain and update our internal databases to reflect the most current information available in the market.

Requirements

  • A logical and methodical approach to research with a strong interest in commercial structures.
  • High proficiency in using spreadsheets and a comfort level with managing large volumes of data.
  • The ability to write in a direct and concise manner: we value factual precision over narrative fillers.
  • Commercial curiosity regarding how investments are made and how different entities interact.
  • Strong self-discipline and the ability to manage your daily tasks effectively in a fully remote setting.
  • An eye for detail that ensures every figure and counterparty name is verified and correct.
  • A foundational understanding of economics or business principles gained through your studies or internships.

Benefits & conditions

  • Competitive pay that is attractive for an entry level position in the advisory market.
  • Direct exposure to the decision-making processes of senior partners on high-stakes projects.
  • The opportunity to work on substantial assignments where your data analysis directly supports client negotiations.

Working at Gulf Associates At Gulf Associates, we believe that the best advice comes from staying close to the reality of the market. We are a specialized firm that avoids the bureaucracy of larger corporate environments. Our culture is based on direct communication and a focus on outcomes rather than just the volume of work produced. Because our partners stay involved in every engagement from start to finish, you will have the chance to see how commercial judgment is applied to real-world challenges. We operate with a small book of active engagements to ensure that our work remains focused and impactful. This role requires someone who is reliable and who understands that clear data is the foundation of every successful investment decision. We value honesty and evidence-based thinking in everything we do.
