Lead Application Engineer

One of Insight Global’s customers is looking to onboard a Lead Application Engineer to help modernize and standardize their enterprise application packaging and deployment ecosystem. This individual will serve as the technical lead responsible for establishing packaging standards, developing deployment methodologies, and driving automation initiatives across the organization. They will oversee the full application lifecycle-from packaging and testing through deployment, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation-while supporting a large Azure Virtual Desktop environment and leveraging Microsoft Intune and Entra ID. This person will partner closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, support, and business stakeholders to prioritize work, build scalable solutions, and create efficiencies through PowerShell automation and CI/CD best practices. This is a remote and 6 month contract to hire opportunity.

6+ years of progressive experience in Application Engineering, Endpoint Management, or Platform Engineering

Expert-level experience with Microsoft Intune, including application packaging, deployment methodologies, and lifecycle management

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and device management best practices

Experience supporting large Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) or VDI environments

Strong PowerShell scripting and automation experience

Experience developing and improving CI/CD deployment methodologies

Prior experience leading engineers, projects, or technical initiatives

Experience packaging and deploying applications using Win32, MSI, MSIX, and script-based deployment methods

Experience creating standards, governance, and scalable deployment processes

Strong communication skills with leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders Microsoft endpoint management certifications

ITIL or Change Management experience

Experience building enterprise automation frameworks

Experience with vulnerability remediation and application security best practices

Experience working within large enterprise environments
