Job description

We are hiring a ServiceNow Automation Tester for the EU Commission in Brussels, Belgium:

Nature of the tasks

  • Design, prepare and monitor automated tests for applications built on the ServiceNow Platform

  • Contribute to the development of a plan to integrate automated testing within the testing process.

  • Evaluate tools and technology for automation best fit to the digital solution applying DevSecOps approach.

  • Create an approach and methodology for building a test automation architecture.

  • Design and develop (new or modified) test automation solutions that meet the business needs.

  • Enable the transition of testing from a manual to an automated approach.

  • Create automated test reporting and metrics collection.

  • Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and reusable test automation frameworks for web, API, and backend testing.

  • Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous testing and provide fast feedback on build quality.

  • Collaborate with manual testers and developers to identify automation opportunities, create automated test cases for regression suites, and promote a shift-left testing mentality.

Specific expertise and technologies

  • Knowledge of test automation technologies, frameworks (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, RestAssured), and techniques for web, API, and mobile testing.

  • Knowledge of automated test generation with the use of Generative AI.

  • Hands-on experience in the creation of test automation solutions.

  • Knowledge of Test Management and Defect Tracking tools.

  • Experience in the test data management.

  • Proficiency in a programming language for automation (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript) for writing robust and maintainable test scripts.

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab CI).

  • Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for creating consistent test environments.

Certification and/or Standards

  • Mandatory: One of the following or an equivalent certification: ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer.

Skills

  • Proficiency in preparing clear, structured, and comprehensive reports.

  • Ability to integrate into international/multicultural teams.

  • Capacity to self-start and collaborate effectively with cross-functional squads.

  • Capacity to learn and adopt evolving automation frameworks, languages, and CI/CD tools.

  • Ability to participate in multilingual meetings

  • Ability to understand, speak and write English, optionally French as an additional asset

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a team as well as autonomously

  • Results-oriented mindset, focused on delivering

Candidate profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • Minimum 6 years of work experience in a similar job
